In conversing with someone recently, I happened upon a simple truth. Instead of trying to solve our insufficiency by taking deliberate aim at the problem; it is always best to invest our strength and attention to the primary relationship.
No, that is not the relationships with your parents or siblings. Nor the relationships you enjoyed in primary/elementary school. It is your relationship with GOD. Perhaps you have never had a relationship with GOD. What are you waiting on?
As simple as it may seem, all course corrections, all re-balancing, all balances realized are born of that primary relationship. Whether something needs fixing. Whether something needs development. Whether you just need help navigating the pain or the joy; all that can be accomplished via the primary relationship.
We can become distracted in attempting to bring healing to situations or people in our world. We make numerous resolutions, plans, and attempts to exert order in our world. But that is like placing the wagon before the horse and yelling, “giddy-up!” You may appear successful in hitting that minor bulls-eye, but it is not the true issue or sustainable success. It is merely a temporary fix of a greater problem.
Your relationship with GOD or the lack of one determines the quality and success of all other relationships. We get to decide if we will live whole, or will we settle for only the successes we can accomplish in our limited strengths. I call ‘settling’ just shifting the flow of puss.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of GOD, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33.
When I get it right with GOD, I get it right with you.
