Playing with purpose

Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

Unbroken Resolutions

When I was a little girl, I often heard a congregational song that encouraged people to lean solely upon the knowledge of GOD. “You ought to stop ‘planning’ sometimes and let GOD have His way. Oh, people let GOD have His way!”

Being a little girl, I was not entirely sure they were not singing, “you ought to stop ‘playing’ sometimes!” Seemed entirely logical to me. You really want to hear from the Lord, stop the playing. Let GOD have His way!

On this eve of another year, it is not what I think I have done that enthuses me for the coming year. I don’t necessarily have a plan of action. So, there will be no breaking of resolutions. What I do know is that unless I am willing to lose valuable time. Unless I am okay with cycling around the same old mountain. I need to be guilty of seeking GOD’s face and all his righteousness. If I do so then victory will be mine. The stuff of which dreams are made of will be added unto me. Matthew 6:33.

My hope for us all as we enter this new year, we do so committed to knowing and enacting the plan of GOD. This we will do if we refuse to lean to our own understanding. By 12/31/2019 we can glance back on our year with the peace and joy of realizing; to the best of our understanding, we did things GOD’s way. Happy New Year and happy journey!
